Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 27, 2026
ClipStash is built by Connected. This policy explains what data ClipStash collects, how it's used, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
ClipStash stores all clipboard data locally on your Mac. Your clipboard history, categories, pins, and settings never leave your device.
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:
- Your clipboard contents (text, images, files, URLs)
- Your search queries within the app
- Your usage patterns or analytics
- Personal information beyond what's listed below
2. License Activation (Direct/DMG Version)
If you purchase ClipStash Pro via our website, the following data is sent to LemonSqueezy (our payment processor) for license activation:
- License key — to validate your purchase
- Machine identifier — a hardware UUID used to bind the license to your Mac
- Machine name — your Mac's name, for your reference in the license dashboard
This data is sent only during activation and periodic revalidation (every 24 hours). LemonSqueezy's privacy policy applies to payment processing: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
3. App Store Version
If you purchase via the Mac App Store, Apple handles all payment processing. We receive no personal or payment information from Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
4. Local Storage
ClipStash stores data in the following locations on your Mac:
- SwiftData database — clipboard history, categories, templates (in the app's container)
- UserDefaults — app settings and preferences
- Keychain — license key data (encrypted by macOS)
You can delete all stored data at any time via Settings > Storage > Clear All History, or by deleting the app.
5. No Analytics or Tracking
ClipStash does not include any analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or tracking code. We do not use cookies, pixels, or any form of user tracking.
6. Third-Party Services
ClipStash connects to the internet only for:
- License validation — LemonSqueezy API (DMG version only)
- App Store receipt validation — Apple StoreKit (App Store version only)
No other network requests are made.
7. Data Security
License credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain, which provides hardware-level encryption. Clipboard data is stored in a local SwiftData database within the app's sandboxed container (App Store version) or application support directory (DMG version).
8. Children's Privacy
ClipStash is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
